About us...
Expanding Horizons Women's Conference
|
In 1999, Senator Bob Margett started this
conference in order to address the needs of
women in our community.
The Senator and Mrs. Margett's vision was to
provide a series of workshops designed to educate
women about the availability of social, financial, and
health services.
To accomplish this vision, the Senator formed a
partnership with Citrus College in Glendora and
solicited the help of volunteers. In no time at all, the
Women's Conference was born.
The conference is held each spring,
typically in March, free of charge.
Attendees are encouraged to
register in advance to assist us in
better planning the event. However,
same day registrations are accepted.
The conference begins at 7:45 AM
with registration. Attendees may
browse the many informative exhibits
while enjoying a pastry and coffee.
Exhibits are available throughout the
day.
At 8:30 AM, workshop seminars begin. They are
divided into four, forty-five minute to one hour
sessions. Typically, there are three to four workshops
during each session to choose from.
Following the last session, all attendees are invited to
lunch, hosted by Senator and Mrs. Margett.
During the luncheon, attendees enjoy addresses by
the steering committee and a specially selected
keynote speaker who shares uplifting and inspiring
personal experiences.
The Senator, Mrs. Margett, the steering committee and all
of the volunteers invite you to share their vision by taking
advantage of this opportunity to expand your horizons.
